• Tool design
Successful tooling stems from good tool design and Adept’s in-house tool design enables us to utilise valuable input from product designers, toolmakers and moulding technicians. With all these departments under one roof, we can design and build tools that produce the finished product "right first time" - a crucial step in achieving a fast time-to-market. Daily production planning also enables flexibility and a build that is on time, in line with market demands.

• Injection mould tool manufacture
Adept's tooling department specialises in precision injection moulding tools and can build tools for products designed by our both design team and our customers, as well as by outside designers. And while we primarily manufacture tools that are to be moulded at Adept, we also have sufficient tool-making capacity to build tools that will not be moulded in-house. Following tooling, the Manufacturing arm of Adept then provides the moulding technicians and moulding machines needed to test completed tools.
Adept's tooling department specialises in precision injection moulding tools and can build tools for products designed by our both design team and our customers, as well as by outside designers. And while we primarily manufacture tools that are to be moulded at Adept, we also have sufficient tool-making capacity to build tools that will not be moulded in-house. Following tooling, the Manufacturing arm of Adept then provides the moulding technicians and moulding machines needed to test completed tools.
• Contract 5 axis machining
The Adept Tool Room, with its 5-axis and high-speed machining centres, offers a wide range of capabilities, from small to large tooling:
• High spindle speeds enable us to machine a wide range of tooling components of all sizes and intricate detail, with cutters right down to 0.2mm.
• Cutting-edge machining software coupled with the latest in cutter technology enables us to machine-hardened materials with ease, without the need for time-consuming pre-hardening roughing.
• By using leading CAD/CAM technology throughout the tool design and manufacturing process, we can respond quickly to product design changes that have occurred, even after tool construction has commenced. This is truly integrated concurrent product development.
• Our advanced CNC machining centres (Makino V33, Matsuura MAM72) are capable of machining a wide range of materials from copper through to hardened steel, with very high accuracy and efficiency.
• When a particular surface finish or non-machineable detail is required, these CNC machines work in conjunction with CNC EDM capability.
• Alongside our CNC capability sits the very latest in EDM wire and spark erosion machines.
• Highly skilled CNC programming staff, all with experience in high speed machining.
